Just wondering if there were any tips on throwing snow with the 2200 before the grouind is frozen.I have a very rough gravel driveway and we already have snow.Is there any way to better use the skid plates to have them better ride on a loose surface?

Just don't skin it down too close.
A couple inches of snow left behind will provide a good compact surface to drive on, but not one so thick that the car tires can't dig down into the gravel on really slippery days. ....

A common trick that is the norm around here is to pack the first few inches of snow by driving over it and packing it into a layer an inch or so deep. After a short time this will freeze into a thin layer of ice. A little light coloured sand (dark sand warms up in the sun and melts the ice) on top will help if it gets too slick.
This does two things, it keeps the aggregate on your driveway and off your lawn, and it prevents the freeze/thaw cycle that can cause a LOT of heaving and damage, not to mention mud, in your driveway.
Besides, a little bit of ice goes a LONG way to preventing wear on the parts of the plow or blower that run against the ground.

I used the loader the past several days. I hope the gravel freezes pretty soon so I can switch over to the blower. I'm always out of practice this time of year. In trying to get a good thin layer of pack I always dig a couple of short divots and then have to dump the bucket and back-drag to fill them in. There's no good way to get the blower into action much sooner on gravel far as I know.
My skid shoes sink into the gravel and the blower is pretty well useless until freeze-up. Some blowers have wide skid shoe options. If I really felt hard-done I could weld some plate onto the shoes but the loader works well enough so I don't bother. Last year on 7 Dec some people were taking snowmobiles onto shallow lakes. Sure isn't going to happen this year. ....
